Note:
Non-technological innovations were not-included into innovation activities up to the year 2006.
Since 2008, in addition to companies with technological innovations (products and processes), enterprises with non-technological innovation (organisational and marketing) are were included into the number of enterprises with innovation activity
Since 2018, in accordance with the revised Oslo manual methodology, non-technological innovations have not been separately surveyed but are partly included in business process innovations. Therefore, there has been an increase in data for business process innovation in the time series from 2018. Process innovations according to the previous methodology have been included in technological innovations. Terms technological innovation and non-technological innovation have not been used since 2018. The term successful innovation is not used either, as it only concerned technological innovation.
In 2018, enterprises with research and development were included in enterprises with on-going or abandoned innovation activity (research and development is an innovative activity according to the Oslo Manual methodology), in other years they are included in some types of innovation activities according to the focus of R&D (product, process, on-going/abandoned, completed but not implemented). The category of innovation activity "completed innovation activity not implemented" is new, its survey started in 2020.
